The Great Commission is the end of a Gospel and the beginning of faith in action for all Christians. This command from Jesus is significant because it's a personal instruction for Christians to have a profound faith in Jesus Christ as indicated in verse Mathew 28:18.- (A quote from Pr.Moses Semanda, Pastor Moses and wife Hopkins pictured)

History

The Church of Gospel Messengers of Holiness and Righteousness was founded by the late Rev. Ezekiel Mbuga in 1978 and registered in 1981 under the NGO board.  He was one of the believers who braved the tyranny of former president the late Idi Amin, of Uganda.  Between 1971-1979, Idi Amin persecuted and abolished Pentecostal Churches.  The Pentecostal Church went underground, believers were arrested, tortured and others killed.   While in prison, God told him to start preaching a gospel of holiness and righteousness.  After the regime, he came out of prison; weak in body, but on fire for Jesus.  He planted the Church of Gospel Messengers of Holiness and Righteousness.

After the death of Rev. Ezekiel Mbuga in 1984, Moses Ssemanda Mbuga the eldest son took over the work of God.  Though he met a lot of challenges, Moses has persevered through fasting, prayer and believing God.  By God’s grace, the ministry now has over 300 branches in Uganda, three in Rwanda and seven in Congo as well as in affiliation with churches in Southern Sudan, Kenya & Tanzania and a permanent structure that sits around 2,000 people, supports over 3,000 Orphans and Vulnerable Children, and has a well equipped and trained staff in all fields.  Moses has been married to his wife, Joyce Hopkins since 1992.
